"Shree Lakshchandi MahaYagna"
Ceremony of 1001 Yogis

The unique and monumental festival for welfare of the world.

Mumbai India
September 23 - October 1, 2006
Event Location and Travel Information

The purpose of this Yoga Fest is to raise funds for the Lakshchandi MahaYagna which will benefit not only those who participate, but all of humanity and the earth itself.

We need the soothing rays of the Absolute Divine to spread throughout the world so we can regenerate the lost feelings of love, brotherhood and peace that the world so desperately needs.

image In troubling times talk of war, natural calamities, global warming, nuclear stockpiles and difficult economic conditions are the mainstay of our headlines. The middle-east is faced with conflict and civil war; unbearable hot summers and earth-quakes and tsunamis have us on edge. It seems as if humanity and even the earth itself has tilled out of balance. The answer is Lakshchandi MahaYagna. The Lakshachandi MahaYagna is specifically designed to relieve humanity of its many ailments, to enable world peace, and to bless its participants with longevity, health, and a route to Moksha (Salvation).

During unstable social and moral times in ancient India, the rishis or sages, would perform a MahaYagna, a prayer of the highest order, to bring humanity and ultimately the earth, back into balance. Likewise, His Holiness Gurudev Rahuleshwaranandji, the spiritual leader of Padmashree Siddhyog Peeth (India), Padmashree Foundation (Los Angeles), is such a sage of the ancient Vedic tradition who will conduct this globally significant event. In his infinite grace, Gurudev will be performing the particularly auspicious and powerful LakshaChandi MahaYagna, from September 23 - October 1, 2006, in Mumbai, India during the 9-day festival of Ashwin Navratri.

Those familiar with Indian Hindu festivals will recall that Navratri is the 9 days preceding the festival of Deepavali. India's epic poem, the Ramayana ends with Lord Rama's triumphant return to Ayodhya. Legend has it that Lord Rama vanquished Ravana at the end of his 14-year exile and returned to his rightful throne at Ayodhya, and the citizens of his kingdom celebrated his return with a 10-day festival. This commemorative festival has been celebrated ever since.

image What is Navratri?
Navratri, a unique and prosperous period which is astrologically very auspicious for meditation, worship, MahaYagna and other rituals pertaining to the Divine Mother.

The 9-days of Navratri (literally nine nights), are traditionally celebrated with prayers to various aspects of Devi, to allow the goddess to battle the forces of duality that operate within us so that we may become the shining ones, or the forces of unity for this universe. Mother Bhagawati Chamunda bestows fearlessness, pleasures and liberation on her Sadhaks and devotees. There is a strange magnetic power in her form. The Chamunda form of Mother Goddess Mahashakti has been given the greatest significance. She is also called Trishakti Chamunda or the Goddess with threefold powers. She is also worshipped as Chandi. The confluence of the three divine powers Mahakali, Mahasaraswati and Mahalakshmi is the Supreme Goddess Bhagwati Chamunda. First Maha-Kali puts too much and too little into balance, then Maha-Saraswati destroys Self-Deprecation and Self-Conceit, and Maha-Lakshmi then slays the Great Ego. On the final day of Navratri, Chamunda stands on center stage to slay the dragons of Anger and Passion, represented by the mythical demons of Chanda and Munda.

What is "Shree Lakshchandi MahaYagna"?
A MahaYagna, literally a fire ceremony, consists of prayers offered over a holy fire with offerings to the divine. They are often performed for the purposes of fulfilling an individual or a family's wish. A Lakshchandi MahaYagna has an even grander purpose, not only to benefit its participants but to transform humanity. This particular MahaYagna is to the Devi Chamunda or Chamundeshwari, who through her crushing anger and passion, has the power to bring order and peace to earth and to the whole universe. The Lakshchandi MahaYagna puja is specifically designed to relieve humanity of its many ailments, to enable world peace, bless its participants with longevity, health, and a route to Moksha (Salvation). This is a MahaYagna because it consists of at least a Laksha (100,000) prayers offered to the Goddess over a period of 9-days. There will be 1,000 agni kundams or (fire pits) for those participating and offering prayers.

(LORD RAMA)
In the times of Lord Rama when the army razed the mighty city of Lanka they perhaps never dreamt that they were creating history. Even so, were Pandavas oblivious of their historically amazing feat of attaining victory in the battle of Mahabaharata made possible only by the Grace of Lord Krishna. Quite thus, the Sadhaks (Sages) hoping to participate in this MahaYagna are blissfully unaware of the fact that a new page will soon be added to the history pages of mankind.

EXACTLY WHERE ARE YOUR CONTRIBUTIONS GOING!

This event should not be considered just a ritual, but rather a unique task for the (Yagyopi Tasyei Janataayei Kaapate) "welfare of the entire mankind" to aid in the betterment of mankind of which you too can contribute a small part by supporting this the Yoga Fest fundraiser. Every penny of your contribution will go directly to the Padmashree Foundation to help fund the operation of this event.

There will be over 1001 yogis participating in this event that will need hosting for food, lodging, and ceremonial supplies during this 9-day event. Your small contribution will be felt by miles for generations to come. The beneficial effects will be felt globally.

LORD BRAHMA
Even Lord Brahma is unaware of the true form of the Goddess. She is the primal energy which is infinite and pervades the entire universe. This very form of the Goddess Bhagwati has been depicted in the Durgaa Saptshati. In the twelfth chapter she has assured the devotees that whoever worships her, meditates on her form and performs MahaYagna for her shall be freed from all sorrows.

image The outcome of "Shree Lakshchandi MahaYagna"
It is only appropriate that we pray for the grace of the Divine Mother to make a change, to affect outcomes. In a time when the entire world faces dangers and perils natural and unnatural, we as individuals are affected physically, socially and moraly with worldly affairs... Here we have an opportunity to affect the outcome with prayer and meditation. It is a time to take a pledge to ring in a new age, a new world, a new Era.

By the methodical performance of Shatchandi Yagna one becomes free from fear of the state, famines, earthquakes, epidemics, floods, cyclones and other natural calamities. One becomes free from fear of the enemy and peace is established in an area of 25 Yojans.

When a single Shatchandi Yagna of hundred divine forms of the Goddess is so effective then just imagine how efficacious shall be the Lakshchandi MahaYagna or the MahaYagna of a lakh divine forms. This MahaYagna is a thousand times more powerful than the Shatchandi Yagna and hence its fruit is many times more beneficial. The Sadhaks and devotees who choose to participate in the MahaYagna shall do so due to the accumulated good Karma of several births. Hence every devotee should try and seek the grace of the Goddess who can bestow health, pleasures, heaven and Moksha or liberation.

The Shree Lakshchandi Mahayagna being performed in the month of Ashwin during the festival of Sharadeeya Navratri is but the propitiation of Goddess Chamunda. It is after several lives of pious existence that one gets the chance to be a part of such a ritual. Very fortunate is the being who personally takes part in such a MahaYagna. The amazing boons of this MahaYagna include wealth, prosperity, fame, health, gains, fulfillment of all wishes, removal of all obstacles in life, banishment of poverty, freedom from ancestral curses, protection from natural calamities, end to all mental and physical afflictions, honor from the state, victory in all spheres of life, peace and order in the world and the welfare of mankind.

It is not every other day that the Divine comes knocking at your door. It is just once that the Supreme gives out a clarion call and if you miss that one chance then there will not be another to even regret. Remember that history is made by those who dare to rise up to the challenge with courage and daring.
